Ο Γιάκομπ δουλεύει σε ένα ορφανοτροφείο στην Ινδία που έχει οικονομικές δυσκολίες όταν λαμβάνει μια προσφορά 4 εκατομμυρίων δολαρίων από έναν πλούσιο Δανό επιχειρηματία με κάποιες όμως ...προϋποθέσεις. Πρέπει να πάει στη Δανία να τον γνωρίσει αυτοπροσώπως προκειμένου να κλείσει τη συμφωνία. Διστακτικά δέχεται και φτάνοντας στην Δανία, ο Γιόργκεν ο επιχειρηματίας τον προσκαλεί στο γάμο της κόρης του. Όταν θα φτάσει εκεί θα ανακαλύψει ότι η γυναίκα του Γιόργκεν και μητέρα της νύφης, η Έλεν είναι η πρώην ερωμένη του πριν από 20 χρόνια...
